How To make Chocolate Samosa? | Instant Chocolate Samosa Recipe

Chocolate samosas are a delicious and unique twist on the traditional savory Indian snack. This recipe will guide you through the process of making homemade chocolate samosas in just a few simple steps.

Here is the list of step to make Chocolate Samosa at home

Ingredients:

For the dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • For the chocolate filling:
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For frying

  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  • To make the dough, combine the flour, salt, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Mix until the flour resembles breadcrumbs. Gradually add water and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • In the meantime, prepare the chocolate filling. Place the chocolate chips in a heat-proof bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar until it comes to a boil.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Let the chocolate mixture cool to room temperature.
  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • Roll out each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.
  • Cut the circle in half with a sharp knife.
  • Take one half and form it into a cone shape. Seal the edges by applying some water with your fingers.
  • Fill the cone with a spoonful of chocolate filling, leaving some space at the top.
  • Wet the edges of the cone with water and fold the top over to seal the samosa.
  • Repeat with the remaining dough and chocolate filling.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the samosas until they are golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove the samosas from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Dust the samosas with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Tips

  • Make sure the chocolate filling has cooled down completely before filling the samosas. Otherwise, the heat can cause the dough to break and the filling to leak out.
  • Don’t overfill the samosas, as they may burst open while frying.
  • If you don’t want to deep fry the samosas, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  • You can also experiment with different types of chocolate, such as milk or white chocolate, or add nuts or dried fruit to the filling for added flavor and texture.
  • Serve the samosas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra decadent dessert.
