  • 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)

  • 1 tsp coriander powder (dhaniya powder)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, take 1 cup of gram flour (besan) and add water as required to make a smooth batter. The batter should not be too thick or too thin. Set aside.
  • Peel and grate 1 raw papaya and keep it aside.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan on medium flame. Once the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds (jeera), 1 tsp of coriander seeds (dhaniya), 1 tsp of fennel seeds (saunf), and 1 tsp of mustard seeds (rai).
  • Once the seeds start crackling, add the grated papaya and mix well.
  • Add 1 tsp of turmeric powder (haldi), 1 tsp of red chili powder (lal mirch), 1 tsp of coriander powder (dhaniya powder), and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now, add the prepared gram flour batter to the pan and mix well. Keep stirring the mixture continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Cook the mixture on medium flame for 10-12 minutes or until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • Add 1 tsp of garam masala powder and mix well.
  • Garnish the dish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, paratha, or rice.
