How To make Easy Bread Poha? | Instant Easy Bread Poha Recipe

Bread Poha is a quick and easy Indian snack made with bread slices and a few spices. It’s a great way to use leftover bread and can be prepared in a matter of minutes. Let’s get started with the recipe.

Here is a breakfast recipe that is easy to prepare and delicious to eat.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 slices of bread
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder (optional, for spiciness)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  • Start by cutting the bread slices into small cubes or bite-sized pieces. Set them aside.
  • Heat oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
  • Add chopped green chili and sauté for a minute until it becomes fragrant.
  • Next, add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent and slightly golden.
  • Add turmeric powder and mix well. Turmeric gives a nice color to the dish.
  • Now, add chopped tomatoes and cook for a couple of minutes until they become soft and mushy.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, add red chili powder at this stage and mix it in.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well. Be cautious with the amount of salt you add, as bread also contains salt.
  • Now it’s time to add the bread pieces to the pan. Mix them gently so that they get coated with the spices evenly. Ensure that all the bread pieces are well combined with the spices.
  • Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes. This will help the bread pieces absorb the flavors and become slightly crispy.
  • After a few minutes, remove the lid and give it a gentle stir. If you find the bread pieces too dry, you can sprinkle a little water to moisten them.
  • Turn off the heat and garnish the Bread Poha with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve the Bread Poha hot with a side of lemon wedges. Squeezing some lemon juice over the poha adds a tangy flavor and enhances the taste.
  • Bread Poha is a versatile dish, and you can add your own variations to it. You can include other vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers to make it more nutritious and colorful. Some people also like to add roasted peanuts or cashews for an extra crunch.
  • This recipe is perfect for breakfast or as an evening snack. It’s quick, easy to make, and requires minimal ingredients. Bread Poha is a great option when you’re short on time or have leftover bread that you want to use up.

Enjoy your delicious Bread Poha and savor the flavors of this simple yet satisfying dish!
