Here is a breakfast recipe that is easy to prepare and delicious to eat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina or rava
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp ghee or oil
  • 3-4 cups water
  • Oil or ghee for cooking dosas

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, take semolina, rice flour, all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, cumin seeds, and mustard seeds. Mix well.
  • Add water gradually to make a thin batter. Mix well so that no lumps are formed. The consistency of the batter should be like that of buttermilk.
  • Now add chopped coriander leaves, green chillies, and grated ginger to the batter. Mix well.
  • Heat a tawa or non-stick pan on medium-high heat. Once it’s hot, pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa. Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges.
  • Cook the dosa for about 2-3 minutes on medium-high heat or until it turns golden brown in color. Flip the dosa and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove the dosa from the tawa and serve hot with coconut chutney or any chutney of your choice.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more dosas.

Tips

  • The batter should be thin, and the consistency should be like that of buttermilk. If the batter is too thick, add more water to thin it down.
  • To make the dosa crispy, add a little bit of rice flour to the batter.
  • The tawa or pan should be hot before pouring the batter. If the tawa is not hot enough, the batter will not spread evenly.
  • Always cook the dosa on medium-high heat to get a crispy texture.
  • Use a non-stick pan to make the dosa as it prevents the batter from sticking to the pan.
  • If you want to make the dosa spicier, you can add more green chillies or red chilli powder to the batter.
  • If you are making the dosa for the first time, start with a small ladleful of batter to get the hang of spreading it evenly on the tawa.
  • Always serve the dosa hot, as it tends to get soft when it cools down.

conclusion

Rava dosa is an easy and quick recipe that can be made in just a few minutes. It’s an ideal breakfast or snack option that is both healthy and delicious. With this simple recipe, you can make crispy and tasty rava dosa at home and enjoy it with your family and friends.
