  • In a mixing bowl, add the wheat flour, grated jaggery, fennel seeds, carom seeds, black pepper powder, and salt. Mix everything well.
  • Now, add the ghee and mix it well with your hands until the flour resembles bread crumbs.
  • Slowly add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
  • Take a ball and flatten it with your hands.
  • Roll the flattened dough into a circular shape.
  • Heat a tawa or griddle on medium heat.
  • Place the rolled-out dough on the tawa and cook until the bottom side is slightly browned.
  • Flip the dough and apply some oil on the top side.
  • Cook until the other side is slightly browned.
  • Flip again and apply some more oil on the other side.
  • Cook until both sides are golden brown.
  • Repeat the same process with the remaining dough balls.
  • Serve hot with butter, curd or pickle.
