For the Dough:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup paneer, grated
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

For Frying:

  • Oil for deep frying


  • In a mixing bowl, add all-purpose flour, salt, and oil. Mix it well with your fingertips until it becomes a crumbly texture.
  • Add water slowly to the mixture and knead the dough until it becomes soft and smooth. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • In a pan, heat 2 tbsp oil on medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until it turns translucent.
  • Add ginger paste, garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
  • Add chopped capsicum and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add grated paneer and mix it well.
  • Add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, black pepper powder, and salt. Mix it well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and add chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well.
  • Divide the dough into small equal parts and roll them into small circles.
  • Take one small circle and place 1-2 tsp of the filling in the center. Fold the circle into half and seal the edges by pressing them firmly.
  • Roll the filled dough gently into thin threads. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, add the rolls in batches and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  • Remove the rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove the excess oil.
  • Serve the Paneer Thread Rolls hot with tomato ketchup or any other dipping sauce of your choice.
