  • You can also use plantains instead of raw bananas to make upperi. The process and recipe remain the same.
  • Make sure the banana slices are sliced thinly and evenly, otherwise, they will not cook evenly and will result in some chips being undercooked while others are overcooked.
  • If you do not have a deep frying pan or wok, you can also shallow fry the chips in a frying pan with some oil. However, deep frying is the traditional method and yields the best results.
